Two hours after I stepped off the plane back in NJ - I was greeted with total forgiveness by another human being. A few days earlier I had done all that I knew how to do to make a situation 'right' - even though I mentioned how the 'tongue' leaves a cut so deep that it is often hard to undo. Only God could heal this.
The feeling of forgiveness is something like this:
Forgiveness is like the fragrance
a flower gives off
when it has been trampled under foot.
Colossians 3:12-14
12 Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. [emphasis mine]
It would be humanly impossible for us to forgive any other human being if it were not for the example of God's forgiveness through Christ's death on the cross.
Like the words from the song entitled: Above All
Crucified... laid behind the stone.
You lived… to die…. rejected and alone.
Like a rose ….trampled on the ground,
You took the fall …….and thought of me
Above all!
You lived… to die…. rejected and alone.
Like a rose ….trampled on the ground,
You took the fall …….and thought of me
Above all!
Choosing JOY,
Stephanie
