How often does God show us a promise - through Scripture, prayer and the Heart of His Holy Spirit within us? Yet we hear ourselves saying these words to the Lord, "I know You can do this, Lord, but I'm just not sure if You will do it, so I don't want to get my hopes up, just in case."
I wonder if God sits on His Holy throne and shakes His head at us saying to Himself,
"They still doesn't get it. I WILL DO THIS, I just require the little faith I've given them to be EXERCISED in BELIEF. When will they learn to TRUST ME - completely?"
Romans 4:16-21
16 Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham's offspring—not only to those who are of the law but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all. 17 As it is written: "I have made you a father of many nations. "He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were.
18 Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, "So shall your offspring be." 19 Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarah's womb was also dead. 20 Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, 21 being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. [EMPHASIS ADDED]

Examine these words found in this Scripture and ponder how they affect the outcome of our promises. Remember, God gave an earthly Promised Land - but there were enemies occupying it. We must fight the battle (against the enemy) to take what God has freely given us. In His timing - in His will and in His ways. We fight - not in the battle of the flesh with words or weapons - we fight with our BELIEVING FAITH in HIM alone!

- BELIEVED [past tense - done deal]
- WITHOUT WEAKENING
- STRENGTHENED
- FULLY PERSUADED
- GOD'S POWER

I know He can, and I know He WILL!

i wanted to share a little story about my oldest son, shawn how i come to have faith in the LORD. Shawn had struggled most of his school years with his behavior in a classroom setting. I have finally been convinced that he has ADHD/difiant behavior. I pray for my son each day that he would have a good day and i would say to the LORD "whatever happens it is your will and that i have to trust you". The next day, shawn was expelled from school. All i could say is "WOW Lord! you definately have my attention". My husband and I agreed to have shawn repeat the sixth grade and now that he is on the proper medication, he would be focused and concentrate on the school work assigned to him. But, the most facinating thing that i have gained from this experience is that not only did i have faith in the LORD, HE is sending shawn to a CHRISTIAN SCHOOL. thank you stephanie for this passages.
Praise God... Keep Praying - Keep Trusting - Keep Believing! Our God is FAITHFUL - and HE [HIMSELF] is our very great reward! [Gen 15:1]
