Believing the Promises of God - in His Word

Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed… Without weakening in his faith… Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what He had promised. ~ Romans 4 [selected 18-21]

JOY Beyond

I wrote this poem [below] early this morning while observing God's Hand in creation and the inspiration of the Scripture passages listed:

Romans 11:33
Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
How unsearchable His judgments, and His paths beyond tracing out!
Psalm 16:11 KJV
Thou wilt show me the path of life:
in Thy presence is fullness of joy;
at Thy Right Hand there are pleasures for evermore. [emphasis mine]
John 15:4-5
Remain in Me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the Vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me.
"I am the Vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing. [emphasis mine]

JOY Beyond…

[Inspired by Romans 11:33 /Psalm 16 / John 15]

Beyond happiness... we find true joy,
When in Christ’s heart we do deploy.
Beyond the fruit, back to its source,
In the Vine, we run our course.

Beyond ourselves, and selfishness,
In Christ, joy comes, through His faithfulness.
Joy is inward; being satisfied
In anything and everything God will provide.

Joy beyond… our circumstance,
Is truly what stirs our hearts to dance.
Joy beyond… all earthly treasure,
Is God’s desire for us to measure.

Joyful peace in all things bent.
Our hearts being lifted, as we are sent.
We proclaim this joy by our countenance,
In hopes, just one, we may influence.

Joy beyond… that lost one found,
When angels singing in heaven resound.
Beyond happiness… we might be smart,
For true joy – is gladness of the heart.

Joy beyond… all boundaries of earth,
Eternal pleasures His Presence will birth.
Fullness of life given this chosen one,
Eternal JOY finds… in heaven’s home.

Choosing JOY,

Stephanie
