Believing the Promises of God - in His Word

Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed… Without weakening in his faith… Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what He had promised. ~ Romans 4 [selected 18-21]

Did I Not Tell You

Luke 1 (selected)
45 Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished!"
Mary's Song
46 And Mary said:
"My soul glorifies the Lord
47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, 48 for He has been mindful
of the humble state of His servant.
From now on all generations will call me blessed,
49 for the Mighty One has done great things for me—
holy is His name. 50 His mercy extends to those who fear Him,
from generation to generation. 51 He has performed mighty deeds with His arm;
He has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts. 52 He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble.
53 He has filled the hungry with good things
but has sent the rich away empty. 54 He has helped His servant Israel,
remembering to be merciful 55 to Abraham and his descendants forever,
even as He said to our fathers."
56 Mary stayed with Elizabeth for about three months and then returned home.

John 11:40
Then Jesus said, "Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?" [emphasis added]

What has Jesus come to do for you? What offering of "Thanks" will you bring to Him this Christmas? What one thing is Jesus asking you to trust Him with, where He asks you the same question that He put to Martha?

Will you Believe Him? Will you trust His Heart? Will you bring Him a song of praise?

Looking Upward and Choosing GREAT JOY,

I love this passage of scripture that you chose today. It is one of my all time favorites. I can just picture Mary singing. I love the way you sign off. Choosing Joy! Yes, we can choose to have joy. It is a choice we make and I love that you remind me of it each time you post. Have a weekend FULL of joy basking in the memories of the day with your son.

In His Redemptive Grace,
Beth
