Believing the Promises of God - in His Word

Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed… Without weakening in his faith… Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what He had promised. ~ Romans 4 [selected 18-21]

Hello everyone

I'm Celina.

The French girl who’s living with Stephanie for my internship.

She asked me to share something with you since I've been living at her home for 3 weeks now.

So I am very grateful to her request because God already worked in my life here in the USA.

First I would like to let you know more about me.I was born in France and I am 30.

I worked in a bank after my business studies (bank and finance major) for almost 2 years.

Then I decided to give up this work to begin my studies at the Bible Institute of Geneva.

But God performed a huge work in my life last year, and He gave me a new vision of my christian life.

A true Christian life: a Christ-servant life.
That's the reason why I'm doing my intern in the USA. My wish is to be missionary in France and as I could observed lot of american teachers, pastors, missionaries performing an amazing work,...I just wanted to experience the church life in their country.

The Lord is preparing me for a full-time ministry and I need to learn lots of things.
One thing that I realized during the first week is one of the most simple and profound though. After I've came back from the Seminary at Philadelphia, where I study Evangelism with Pastor Rev. Charlie Harrah, I went to Stephanie's with a deep desire to study more about how God wants me to reach the people for Him. And then I worked on an assignment for the classes, which is based on Mark 5.1-20.I knew that story because I grew up in a christian family. But this evening, I read that passage like it was the first time. And how amazing God is! He underlined the truth that I was looking for.

And he would not let him, butsaid to him, Go to your house, to your friends, and give them news of the greatthings the Lord has done for you, and how he had mercy on you. And he went onhis way, and made public in the country of Decapolis what great things Jesus haddone for him: and all men were full of wonder.

Mark 5.19

Wow! Now I understand what God is expecting from me...not what I was still doing so far, but go to the people in my neighbourhood and being a living testimony of what God has done in my life.
I wanted to share this verse because it's quite simple and it's very practical for our lives. People around us need God, they don't know how much they need Him. So let God leads us through the ways He'll choose to reach the losts. I want to sacrifice my comfort and my selfishness in being more open to the others...I want to be a living sacrifice.

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God- this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is- his good, pleasing, and perfect will.
Romans 12.1-2

May the Lord of the lords, the King of kings transform our vision, our mind and our heart to make His kingdom come and His people serve Him.

Hope you'll find joy, encouragement and grace in what God made in few days in my heart.

I want to thank Him especially for Stephanie, who is a real godly woman...as I would like to be.

God bless her and all of you.

In Christ

Celina.

Celina - You are a blessed woman to be able to stay with Stephanie! She is just awesome.

Thanks for this word. As I look around I see so many hurting people. It causes me to take my own focus off of myself and think of others.

Many blessings,
Beth
