Believing the Promises of God - in His Word

Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed… Without weakening in his faith… Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what He had promised. ~ Romans 4 [selected 18-21]

Oh, The WONDER of God

Psalm 31:19 [The Message]
What a stack of blessing You have piled up for those who worship You, Ready and waiting for all who run to You to escape an unkind world. You hide them safely away from the opposition. As you slam the door on those oily, mocking faces, you silence the poisonous gossip. Blessed God! His love is the wonder of the world. Trapped by a siege, I panicked. "Out of sight, out of mind," I said. But You heard me say it, You heard and listened.

Acts 3:6-11 [NIV]
6 Then Peter said, "Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk." 7 Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man's feet and ankles became strong. 8 He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God. 9 When all the people saw him walking and praising God, 10 they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.
Peter Speaks to the Onlookers

11 While the beggar held on to Peter and John, all the people were astonished and came running to them in the place called Solomon's Colonnade.

Mark 9:15 [NIV]
As soon as all the people saw Jesus, they were overwhelmed with wonder and ran to greet Him.

As people come and go from my house they stop and sniff and remark, "What is that smell?" Outside my front door the lily of the valley are in full bloom. Their fragrance hits like a windswept rain. Visitor's senses are awakened to the 'wonder' of the aroma.
As I thought about how, each day, they capture someone's attention who was not expecting to notice the sensation, the wonder, or the joy that knocked them over... I thought about Jesus. Worship may come at random moments when God reveals Himself through His creation. It should make us stop, look, listen, smell, taste, ponder, feel and see - WHO GOD IS! Then - we may [with JOY] respond in PRAISE to His Holy Name... and give Him thanks!
May we join the lilies of the valley and EXTOL our King Jesus with Praise in the newness of Spring.

Choosing JOY,

Stephanie

I was nominated by Alleluiabelle at http://www.alleluiabelle.blogspot.com/for this award. She is a blessing to me as we share life’s journey of faith! I am honored to receive this award. Please go meet Alleluiabelle and take some time to visit her site and say hello. She has quite a story [HIS-story] to tell!! I always break the rules because I just desire to honor ONE person at a time for an award. Many deserve this award. But I am choosing to pass this one on to my dear friend, Beth over at: http://aninstrument4hisglory.blogspot.com/ Beth was one of my first blogging 'sisters' who came along side me to encourage me along the way. She is a faithful sister in prayer and blesses me daily with her writings and her genuine care . She loves God with all of her 'golden' heart! Now you [Beth] can award this 'Golden Heart Award' to 5 blogs that mean something meaningful to you.

Hi Stephanie,

I love the smell of lilly of the valley. We have a tree not far from our front door. They are not quite in full bloome yet, but I anxiously await.

Oh Yes, "May we join the lilies of the valley and EXTOL our King Jesus with Praise in the newness of Spring." Thank you Jesus! Amen and Amen!

Love you,
Alleluiabelle

You and Beth are Prayer Warriors at heart. You both deserve the award.

I love this post and really needed Psalm 31:19. The part that says "Ready and waiting for all who run to You to escape an unkind world. You hide them safely away from the opposition." is what really stood out to me.

I had to look it up in the NLT. Here's how it reads:
"How great is the goodness
you have stored up for those who fear you.
You lavish it on those who come to you for protection,
blessing them before the watching world."

Been missing you. I hope your doing better. When you get a chance, please let me know how your back is. Have you been able to get treatment yet?

Much love!
