Believing the Promises of God - in His Word

Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed… Without weakening in his faith… Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what He had promised. ~ Romans 4 [selected 18-21]

GOLD ANYONE?

2009Grosbeak7_12TSPs21_3

John 16:32-33

32"But a time is coming, and has come, when you will be scattered, each to his own home. You will leave Me all alone. Yet I am not alone, for My Father is with Me.

33"I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

2 Corinthians 4:16-18

16Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. [emphasis added]

Is anyone out there suffering today?

Anyone afflicted?

Anyone in pain?

Anyone going through a great loss?

Anyone lose a loved one recently?

Anyone a caregiver for another who is suffering?

SUFFERING - it's everywhere you turn. The man on the street objects, "There is no God!" - all because of suffering.

Yet no one suffered more than God Himself - in the person of Jesus Christ on the cross. And IN HIM - we have purpose for our suffering - even when we can't explain it here. It has purpose there [in glory].

For our "light and momentary troubles" What? You call  this suffering light and momentary?

Yes! [in comparison to what's to come] they are achieving for us an eternal glory that is beyond measure!

May these verses of Scripture bring you comfort in your suffering and pain and... even JOY!

The greatest response to human suffering is to PRESS INTO GOD!

[paraphrasing Joni E. Tada]

Choosing JOY,

Stephanie

How thankful I am to have God to press into, on all occasions. Trouble is, I don't always take him up on his offer of companionship. I'm learning.

Have a blessed weekend, friend.
