Believing the Promises of God - in His Word

Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed… Without weakening in his faith… Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what He had promised. ~ Romans 4 [selected 18-21]

DISCIPLINE IS LOVE - Part 3

The ‘rod’ is necessary or the child will become spoiled and will rule the house. God never intends for a child to rule his own father or mother. That example shows the child that he has control , over the household ~ even over God. His mind will remain self-seeking and warped without proper discipline and training.

Proverbs 13:24 [NIV]
He who spares the rod hates his son,
but he who loves him is careful to discipline him.
[emphasis added]

*************
[the word ‘careful’ here, reminds me that we must ‘care in full’ for our children.]

The greatest responsibility that God gives parents is the nurture and guidance of their children. Lack of discipline puts parents' love in question because it shows a lack of concern for the character development of their children.

Amazingly, I am so thankful for the rod. I am mature in my faith to know that all discipline comes from the Lord who loves me without end. Sometimes, I find myself asking God not to love me so much! LOL

Blessings to you sister! Big Hugs!
