Believing the Promises of God - in His Word

Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed… Without weakening in his faith… Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what He had promised. ~ Romans 4 [selected 18-21]

FATHER

On this Father's Day my family and I wish to share with you some scripture passages that have meant so much to us over this past year in what God did to show us His love and to show us His power along with His mercy and all sufficient grace.

We gathered around Bob's grave today to celebrate. We sang songs of praise to our God, read these scriptures and spoke about his life - in reflection of what God did a year ago (today) when we poured hundreds of verses over Bob for more than three hours... all in preparation for his "healing" and his "home-going". In both, God was faithful!

If you want to take time to read these on your own - we read and shared from:

  • 1 Corinthians 13 / Psalm 16:7-11 / Psalm 63 / Psalm 40:1-3 / John 14:1-3 / Psalm 30:1-5 / Psalm 31:3-5

1 Peter 1:3-9 (Bob's favorite passage that he claimed through his cancer)

Praise to God for a Living Hope

3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you, 5 who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7 These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. 8 Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; and even though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls. [emphasis mine]

We know Bob was singing with the angels today - giving praise to His (our) heavenly FATHER - face to face with a new voice that expressed the joy of his soul - for the joy of his salvation!

We dedicated his bronze grave plaque that reads:

124 DAYS OF GOD’S SUFFICIENT
HEALING and GRACE!
2 Cor. 12:9

Praise, honor and glory to the Father!

Choosing JOY,

Stephanie
