Believing the Promises of God - in His Word
Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed… Without weakening in his faith… Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what He had promised. ~ Romans 4 [selected 18-21]

PRAYER & FAITH
Psalm 20
For the director of music. A psalm of David.
1 May the LORD answer you when you are in distress;
may the Name of the God of Jacob protect you.
2 May He send you help from the sanctuary
and grant you support from Zion.
3 May He remember all your sacrifices
and accept your burnt offerings. Selah
4 May He give you the desire of your heart
and make all your plans succeed.
5 We will shout for joy when You are victorious
and will lift up our banners in the Name of our God.
May the LORD grant all your requests.
6 Now I know that the LORD saves His anointed;
He answers him from His holy heaven
with the saving power of His right hand.
7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the Name of the LORD our God.
8 They are brought to their knees and fall,
but we rise up and stand firm.
9 O LORD, save the king [and me]!
Answer us when we call!
Philippians 4:4-7
4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Looking UPward and Choosing JOY,
Stephanie

"We trust in the name of the LORD our God."
There's such power in that name. Simply breathing it and saying it aloud silences the enemy and cause all of heaven to take notice.

I love this song, I believe by Don Moen. As well as Philippians 4:5b....we tend to dwell on vs 6-7; my close friends clings to these two verses and then one day I noticed 5b: The LORD is near.
Now is that good news Sister, or what?
Love ya
Hi Stephanie,
I was looking over some comments on my blog and didn't see until now that Edie sent you my way. Nice to meet you. I can honestly say that I don't like being a widow. It is getting easier, but I miss him so much. I am thankful to God that I started a spiritual journey and I know without him I would never have made it through Pete's death. The Lord awakened me one day and I really got thirsty for him and it's a great journey that I am on. I started blogging and it was like a flood of christian folks that he sent my way. How awesome it that. I will add you to my blog list so I can soak up your words. Have a great day! Again, so nice to meet you! Do you think it is odd that I haven't gone through any of my husbands clothes, etc? Did it take you awhile to do that?
Amen! Psalms are very precisious, thank you for sharing this particular one. Blessings to you and yours on this Sonday!
